Planet Money: Economics in a digestible form. Look especially at their coverage of the financial crisis; each 20 minute show is well worth the time.
This American Life: A huge archive of radio stories that run the gamut. Often the stories are thought-provoking examples of strong storytelling, and some are just really funny.
